The Eastman E20 OOSS
Inspired by the iconic parlor style, pre-war guitars from the 1930s, the OO is a short scale 12 or 14-fret vintage “blues box.” The smaller bodied OO features a premium blend of select mahogany, solid spruce, and rosewood tonewoods. The smaller upper bout coupled with a larger lower bout and thin soundbox makes the OO a comfort to play and ideal for a smaller, quieter room. Favored by everyone from old blues players to folk and Americana, to virtually guitarists of any musical genre, the OO transitions playing styles seamlessly from fingerstyle to strumming to a bottleneck slide. From the back porch to the stage to recording sessions in the studio, the OO is a versatile guitar that fits into any players collection.
Antique Varnish
At the source of every great feature are highly skilled craftspeople who sculpt, refine and perfect a vision. The Antique Varnish process is no exception. The resulting sound is pure and like no other. A six step process starting with a basecoat application to fill the grain, moving to color application, concluding with a french polish, resulting in a finish that’s softer than lacquer, with a smoother tone. A thinner layer of varnish allows for a more resonant, and wide-open sound, giving this instrument a voice all of its own.
This guitar further distincts itself from the original E20 OO SS with the herringbone bracing and the hollow diamond inlays. Altogether, these features make it a guitar crafted with incredible attention to detail.
